Academy Sports + Outdoors ASN Requirement Update
As part of our long-term vision to be the best sports + outdoors retailer in the country, one of our key strategies is to leverage and scale our supply chain to enable industry-leading growth.
To support this vision, we have transitioned to a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) that requires unique Advanced Shipment Notices (ASNs) per each trailer or container. This is particularly relevant for large POs where the number of cartons or pallets exceeds the capacity of a single trailer or container. In this case, separate ASN’s should be created for each trailer or container.
Currently, we are experiencing receiving delays when only one ASN is used in our new WMS. Unique ASN’s per each trailer(container), allow us to get your product to the store and into customers’ hands more quickly.
  • Effective immediately:
    • When shipping POs that fill multiple trailers (containers), send unique ASNs for each trailer (container).
    • All Purchase Order Types affected – Import / Domestic, freight terms collect or prepaid.
    • The vendor SMART Guides have been updated to include this information.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact vendcomp@academy.com directly.
